No. 11 - Tully's Shop

Built in the early 1800's Tully's shop was a brick building being next door to the white weatherboarded house where they resided. Tully's sold homemade bread and cakes along with various sundries such as sweets, groceries and newspapers. A Post Office was situated in the right-hand side of the shop. A public telephone box was later sited outside. For many years they had a delivery round with a horse and cart, the horse living in the orchard behind the shop. In 1970's the building was sold together with the land at the back of the shop.

The building was eventually demolished and replaced by 1 to 10 Forge Cottages facing the Green -which were built in 1996 - with the first properties in Forge Close behind, completed at the same time.
